Now a Foundation since September 2015, a board of directors was elected at the end of last year to govern the activities and projects of the FP-UA Foundation. This board includes five people who have been active and keen supporters of the organisation since it was initiated after typhoon Haiyan in 2013.

Philippe Gauthier, who is the Chairman of the Board of Asiatype Inc., was elected as President. Christophe Riout, President of the French Chamber of Commerce, and Chito Poblete, VP HSEQ & Logistics at Total Philippines, are both vice-presidents. Victor “Chuck” Janolino, VP Marketing at Republic Cement Services Inc., was appointed as corporate secretary of the foundation while Cyril Rocke, CEO of DataOne Asia, is its treasurer.

The French Ambassador, H.E. Thierry Mathou, will be the Honorary Chairman of the Foundation, thus strengthening the ties between FP-UA and the French Embassy which encouraged the creation of the organisation after typhoon Haiyan in November 2013.

Since its creation, FP-UA has been governed by a leadership committee including the partner-companies involved in the projects. Don Lee, Country CEO of Republic Cement Services Inc., was the first Chairman of the committee during the year 2014. Under Mr. Lee, the rehabilitation projects in Daanbantayan were initiated and the organisation’s credentials amongst the French community were built upon. Dilip Vaswani, President and Managing Director of Total Philippines, then took the position for the year 2015 during which the first two projects were completed, a third site was initiated and the organisation was officially registered.

Now a full-fledged foundation, FP-UA aims to regroup the CSR activities of French companies in the Philippines, regardless of their size, thus increasing their impact and visibility. FP-UA’s actions rest on three key pillars that guide all its development projects: disaster rehabilitation and resilience to climate change, children welfare and health.
